Presidential Inauguration 2009 … New History for our Nation & Civilization … President Barack H. Obama: “A New Era of Responsibility”

Welcome to the White House … President Obama’s 1-20-09 Inaugural Address
“My fellow citizens: I stand here today humbled by the task before us, grateful for the trust you’ve bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors.”
Although expectations for the inauguration were set very high, President Obama and his family inspired a celebration unlike any other—after all the hard work & dedication, ALL Democrats were able to relish in the sweet glow of their success.
Unfortunately, the splendor of the day was dimmed by two clouds. One of them was the hardship of 4,000-5,000 ticket-holders who were denied entry to the celebration—due to the unprecedented number of people taking part in the festivities, even such painful mishaps might be understandable. Nonetheless, there will never be an excuse for the other dim cloud over the ceremony—the unjust & crude treatment of President Bush by some of the “Dems.” While President Obama’s address also contained negative references to the Bush administration, such “difficulties” might be quite normal during any transfer of power. As such, at the very beginning of his address, President Obama did his best to give proper credit to President Bush. “I thank President Bush for his service to our nation — as well as the generosity and cooperation he has shown throughout this transition.”
At Last … Now that Democrats have helped the Obamas to fulfill their dreams, the hard road before them is known to all of us: Democrats, Independents and Republicans. Since the gift and responsibility of freedom transcend political affiliations, so do our future and destiny as Americans. As such, President Obama’s concluding remarks were quite inspirational.
“America: In the face of our common dangers, in this winter of our hardship, let us remember these timeless words. With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure what storms may come. Let it be said by our children’s children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God’s grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations.
Thank you. God bless you. And God bless the United States of America.”
With Democrats & Republicans as natural agents of checks and balances, sparks are guaranteed. Even though President Obama has presented a very powerful agenda, so have the Republican Governors, Rush Limbaugh and others—Economy, Terrorism, Homeland Security, Energy, Health Care, Education, Abortion, LGBT, Environment, Globalization as well as countless social issues of equal importance. Given America’s intellectual powerhouse, most of the major issues should have been resolved years ago. Considering that the opposite is true, it’s quite possible that our Crises are less about issues and more about plethora of oxymora—honest politicians, compassionate conservatives, tolerant liberals, religious progressives, loveless humanitarians or Christian Democrats. Now that liberal conservatives accuse others of not being conservative enough, conservatives are becoming more dangerous than liberals. We don’t need a visionary nor a special committee to confirm or deny our sad reality—it’s a certainty that without a major intervention, Traditional American Values, Faiths & Families will soon become history!
Within the fundamental differences between Democrats, Independents & Republicans, any inauguration will be laced with sweet sorrow. Nonetheless, although countless political battles await, celebrating the first African-American President and his family is a joy that could ONLY happen in the heartland of love & dreams or ONLY in America!
